The Sherman Library Book Club Selection for March 13, 2018 is “Chilbury Ladies’ Choir” by Jennifer Ryan.
The Sherman Library Book Club meets every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room of the Library.
The Third Thursday Reading Series is pleased to welcome Dr. Deborah Brothers as our March featured author. While Deborah writes in a variety of genres, most of her published work has been in the area of the personal essay, including “Exhibiting Tenderness,” which appeared recently in ArtCienca, the international journal of arts, communication, and science. She is also a regular reviewer of academic books for the American Library Association’s Choice magazine. She’s received two National Endowment for the Humanities Scholar Awards, and last summer she was a Harvard Fellow at the Hutchins Center for African and African-American Studies. A Ph.D. in English studies, she’s taught at Lincoln Land Community College for 25 years. Before Deborah’s reading at 7, there will be an OPEN MIC beginning at 6 p.m.
